Creating Your Photographic Story of Place
"The true impact of storytelling happens
when your story becomes part of someone else’s story.”
Storytelling is a powerful instructional tool to create and communicate powerful stories that inspire action; for fostering a sense of identity and belonging, whether in a personal, a community, or a professional context. Sharing personal stories is a profound way to establish a unique identity and forge connections with others on a deeply human level.
Why Your Story Matters
- From the moment we’re born storytelling becomes a defining aspect of our humanity, helping us learn about a strange new environment as we listen to stories from family and friends.
- Stories allowed us to make sense of the world around us.
- Through storytelling we hear about the experiences of others, sharing successes and failures, and the wisdom we’ve gained.
- Through the telling of stories we have the profound ability to change someone’s life; to expand their horizons or alter their perspectives, and in doing so, envision a more joyful future.

Storytelling with Impact: Creating Your Story of Place
Creating a photographic story is a process that takes time, research, creativity, and personal reflection.
